25 January 2024 Gosport's free community skips scheme is going from strength to strength and on Saturday surpassed 250 tonnes of waste collected in only eight months.

25 January 2023 - A project to revamp historic buildings in Gosport town centre is bringing colour and creativity to the area. The project's flagship scheme is the restoration of the Royal Arms Hotel's distinctive facade, which is now almost complete. Historic buildings elsewhere in the town centre have also had their frontages restored or have gained decorative handmade signs.

27 October 2021 - The first recipients of Gosport's creative grant scheme have been announced by Gosport Cultural Consortium.

23 August 2021 - Gosport Cultural Consortium (GCC) announces grants totalling £30,000 are now available to support creative projects throughout the borough.

09 August 2021 - A major redevelopment of Gosport's Old Grammar School can now go full steam ahead following approval of planning permission and £100,000 in funding from Arts Council England (ACE).

16 June 2021 - Two Gosport shop owners are celebrating after becoming the first to be awarded grants to help them improve their historic shopfronts and restore the character of the town centre.

19 May 2021 - A partnership of organisations from across Gosport has been awarded a £100,000 grant from Historic England as part of the High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ). Gosport Cultural Consortium will create and deliver a programme of community-led cultural activities on the high street over the next three years.

Saturday 8 May - The results of the Gosport Borough Council elections on Thursday 6 May have been announced following a count at Gosport Leisure Centre today.

8 March 2021 - The council has strongly condemned the damage caused by vandals to eight gravestones at Ann's Hill Cemetery and has begun work to repair and restore the gravestones. The gravestones were damaged by spray paint on Friday 5 March. The council is now working with a local stonemason to professionally clean the stonework and make sure there is no lasting damage. Where possible, relatives of the deceased are also being contacted by the council so that the families concerned can be kept informed on the restoration work.

17 December 2020 - Leader's statement on move to 'very high' alert

02 September 2020 - A project to build new sea defences has taken a step forward now that the planning application for the Alverstoke Coastal Scheme has been submitted for approval. The scheme, which would ensure reduced flood risk to 142 properties, is being developed by the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership (ESCP), with support from professional consultants, on behalf of the council.

31 July 2020 - The council's support for the local armed forces community has been recognised by a top award from the Ministry of Defence. The council has won a gold award under the ministry's Employer Recognition Scheme, which highlights organisations that demonstrate exceptional support to military personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and forces families.
