Nature Conservation

The Borough has a significant range of important habitats, including inter-tidal mudflats, saltmarshes, woodland and heathland that support numerous protected species. It is important that areas of nature conservation interest are protected from damage or loss. Many of these sites are of national and international importance. In addition the Borough Council also provide a Countryside Section which aims to ensure that the countryside sites of the Borough of Gosport are valued, maintained and enhanced for the benefit of people and wildlife for the present and for the future. They also hold various events throughout the year.
