Conservation Area Appraisals

Gosport Borough Council has produced eleven Conservation Area Appraisals which are shown below. The Council is in the process of preparing new Conservation Area Appraisals for the seventeen Conservation Areas in the Borough.

The Appraisals are intended to act as a guide to the buildings and features that make a special contribution to the character of the area. They assess how each area historically developed, their character, the scale and form of development and opportunities for continuing enhancement. As each Appraisal is adopted by the Borough Council they will be used to inform planning decisions through the Development Management process and the development of Planning Policy.
