Have your say on Hardway anti-social behaviour order

Local people are being asked for their views on a legal order designed to curb anti-social behaviour at Hardway Green.

Gosport Borough Council introduced the order in 2017 as one way of dealing with the issue. It's now up for renewal, so the council is asking the local community and interested organisations to have their say on the order and whether it should stay in force for another three years.

The order is in effect between 1 April and 30 October each year. It enables police or council officers to ask people to disperse from the area and not return for 12 hours.

To comment on the order and whether it should be renewed, people can go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VRH7FCJ  and fill in a short survey.

Paper copies of the survey are available at:

  • Town Hall reception, High Street
  • Gosport Discovery Centre, High Street
  • Elson Community Library, 136 Chantry Road
  • HEDCA, Coombe Road

Cllr Peter Chegwyn, Leader of the Council, said: "We want to hear from local people about their experiences of anti-social behaviour and what they think of this order. I'd encourage anyone with an interest in the issue to fill in this quick survey and let us know what you think."

The consultation on the Borough of Gosport Hardway Green Public Spaces Protection Order ends at 12pm on Tuesday 2 January.
