Development Management is primarily concerned with the processing of planning applications and applications for advertisement consent, breaches of planning control and the provision of general information and advice relating to individual development proposals.

Local List Review

Gosport Borough Council, following a review and consultation, has adopted (from 6th June 2019) updated Local Information Requirements (Local List) relating to planning and related applications. The new Local List is available to view here:



Planning Policy is responsible for the preparation of planning documents within the Local Development Framework. These include:

Planning : Monitoring and Background Information


Conservation and Design deals with matters relating to the Borough's built heritage, principally: Listed Buildings, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, Conservation Areas and Historic Building Grants. In addition selected implementation projects, generally relating to urban regeneration, are also part of this section's role.
