Call for Sites
Potential site allocations
The Council is continuing work on the Gosport Borough Local Plan to cover the period to 2040, with a final round of consultation (Regulation 19) planned in early 2026. A consultation was undertaken for 10 weeks between September and December 2021 on the Consultation Draft (Regulation 18).
As part of the plan making process, the Council is again inviting organisations and individuals to put forward sites which may be suitable for development or retention in their current use. The 'call for sites' helps the Council ensure all available sites are considered. The Council also wishes to know about those sites which you may consider should be retained in their current land use, and sites which could be used for open spaces, sites for nature conservation, and other new opportunities for green infrastructure.
The Council undertook a call for sites in 2019 and 2023, however proposed planning reforms and a new NPPF (December 2024) have resulted in delays to the timetable. We therefore ask that previous submissions be refreshed or resubmitted. If you require details of your previous submission, please contact us. No action is required for sites with planning permission and/or where a planning application is under consideration as we are aware of these proposals.
Please ensure you submission is with us by Friday 9 May 2025 for consideration.
Nominate a site using the online form
A PDF form is also available: Call for Sites Form (PDF, 449 KB)
Please note that putting a site forward does not automatically mean it will be included in the plan. Nominated sites will be assessed through the plan making process and subject to public consultation.
If completing a PDF form, please send your form to planning.policy@gosport.gov.uk. You can also post your form to Manager of Planning Policy, Town Hall, High Street, Gosport, PO12 1EB.
