Hanging or Projecting Signs

There should not be more than one such sign on an individual property. Hanging signs, hand painted or metal and bracket mounted, add to the street scene and are to be encouraged.

Projecting signs should normally be at fascia level only and should form part of the design of the shopfront. Internally illuminated signs are not normally suitable for use in Conservation Areas. Consideration may in special circumstances be given to advertising above fascia level, for example the replacement of a Public House sign that has traditionally been located at first floor level.
