Gosport Borough Council's Online Geographic Information System (GIS) is an interactive mapping service that allows you to view map based information held by the Council. The service will allow you to carry out address searches within the Borough, move around the map and query map layers.
The map layers currently available to view are Recycling Centre locations, Allotments, Public Conveniences and Public Slipways, Ward Boundaries, Conservation Information and the Local Plan Review Proposals map, some of which have links from the mapping layers to other web pages or files on the Gosport Borough Council web site, providing more information.
The Proposals Map is shown as adopted in May 2006. However in May 2009, following a direction from the Secretary of State, some policies are no longer valid. The list of "saved" policies should be referred to in conjunction with the Proposals Map.
The Proposals Map can be viewed via an interactive mapping service, however please note the following:
Note : The Local Plan Review Proposals Map shows the boundaries of the Conservation Areas as at May 2006. The boundary of the Lee-on-the-Solent Conservation Area was amended on 11/03/09. To see the current conservation area boundaries use the Conservation Information overlay.
Note : The Proposals Map shows the Areas at Risk of Flooding as at September 2005. The latest information is obtainable from the Environment Agency. (external website)
Note : The Proposals Map shows the Safeguarded Area for the Storage of Munitions as at May 2006. The latest information can be viewed at the Planning reception in the Town Hall.
Note : In order to view the Urban Area Boundary and to find which areas are covered by policies R/DP1 (General Standards of Development within the Urban Area) and R/OS1 (Development Outside of the Urban Area) you are advised to select the "Urban Area Boundary" and "Outside Urban Area" map layers in the key.
