Citizen of the Year / Graham Hewitt Volunteer of the Year
Nominations open for three awards
Gosport residents are being asked to nominate the borough's greatest organisers, fundraisers, volunteers and helpers as the search for the borough's citizen of the year begins.
Gosport Borough Council is seeking nominations for the annual Citizen of the Year award and its junior counterpart for under-18s. A new award has also been added, the Graham Hewitt Volunteer of the Year Award.
Candidates need to have made a positive difference to life in Gosport, which could be anything from organising community groups to taking a neighbour to the shops every day.
The Citizen of the Year award has been running for more than 30 years and in particular looks for those living in the borough and showing exemplary service to the community, voluntary sector or people outside of their family.
Nominate using the online form below, or for more information or a paper nomination form, email democratic.services@gosport.gov.uk or call 023 9254 5340.
Nominations must be submitted by 2 April (extended from 31 March) and the winners will receive their award at the borough's annual mayor making ceremony on 14 May.
