Join the Mayor of Gosport's civic service of peace
Gosport residents are invited to join a special service of peace, hosted by the Mayor of Gosport on Saturday 25 January at the Freedom Church.
The service will offer prayers of peace for people who are suffering in conflicts around the world and reflect on the enduring compassion shown by Gosport's community to each other and those in need.
Mayor of Gosport, Cllr Richard Earle said:
"With so much conflict and atrocity happening in different parts of the world today, it's never been so important to come together as a community to ask for peace and humanity.
"There is huge compassion among people in Gosport to help one another and those less fortunate, and this service will be the chance to proudly reflect on that and offer prayers for an end to suffering and war."
Reverend Sean Blackman said:
"As we begin the new year, let us reflect on our shared desire for peace in the world, in our community, and within ourselves."
The service is open to all to attend and will take place at the Freedom Church, Freedom Centre on Netherton Road (PO12 4PH), starting at 2pm.
There will be reflective activities, readings, music, refreshments and prayers for the world and Gosport's community.
