Three free upcoming community events will be a chance for Gosport residents to enjoy free family entertainment, while helping shape local services.

Visitors will be able to enjoy free ice cream, face painting and refreshments at three events at Gosport's Digital and Wellbeing hubs over the next few months:

Shaping our Digital and Wellbeing Hubs

As part of the Council's plan to create a Digital Peninsula, the three Digital Hubs help residents get online and access services and tasks for day-to-day life.

Feedback from these events will shape what Hubs offer to the community going forward. Whether it's more support with job hunting, accessing health services, or banking online, the Hub can help.

The three hubs can offer IT support like:

  • Accessing online health services, like booking a GP appointment and e-consultations
  • Family learning, like helping with your children's or grandchildren's homework
  • Job searching and applying, including updating CVs
  • Use Teams / Zoom / Google Meet
  • Online shopping
  • Help to find and complete other online forms
  • Learn how to use email

Councillor Rob Hylands, Deputy Leader of Gosport Borough Council said: "We want to hear from anyone who wants to be more confident with using the internet. Whether it's you, a family member, or someone else in your community who needs help - we want to hear from you. This is your chance to shape the digital support services you want to see in your area and enjoy our free community events while you do."

The project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and is part of a wider £1m programme to boost digital skills in Gosport.
