Welcome Home the Troops on Friday 23 April 2010

You've probably witnessed on TV, Service Personnel being welcomed home from Afghanistan, and seen too the feeling of pride and support this reception has given the troops.

Well on 23 April, 2010, St George’s Day, Gosport residents will get the chance to welcome home their own local heroes, the Servicemen and Women of 33 Field Hospital, as they return from Afghanistan. Read the full story here.

Gosport wins national 'Community Youth Initiative Award' for its Passport Scheme

At the recent Community Partnerships Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, Gosport Community Safety Partnership (GCSP) picked up the Community Youth Initiative Award, for their outstanding 'Passport Scheme'.

Swine Influenza - information


The Government have produced a National Pandemic Flu Service website at: www.direct.gov.uk/pandemicflu

 

Swine Influenza is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses. Outbreaks of swine influenza happen regularly in pigs. People do not normally get swine influenza, but human infections can and do happen. Most commonly, human cases of swine influenza happen in people who are around pigs but it's possible for swine influenza viruses to spread from person to person also.
