Public notices

Changes to the way public notices are published

From 1 February 2013, Gosport Borough Council will be placing statutory notice adverts in a free publication called the Hampshire Independent, as well as publishing them on the Public Notice Portal www3.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices.

Statutory public notice adverts are usually placed in local newspapers that people have to buy.  This new publication is free to pick up and covers the whole county, which makes it less costly to the taxpayer than paying for many different adverts in different newspaper areas.

By publishing the notices in a free newspaper and on the portal at the same time, the council aims to make public notices widely available in a cost effective way.

You can read a copy of the Hampshire Independent online www.hantsdirect.com, visit Hampshire Media's website. List of Stockists for the Hampshire Independent.
