Major Sporting Achievement

The Council is embarking on a major project in partnership with DC Leisure to provide a modern, up-to-date leisure centre complex together with a hotel and pub / restaurant. The scheme will see the culmination of a long process which began with the decision to replace the ageing Holbrook Recreation Centre, with a facility designed to meet customer needs now, and for the future.

Having been in liaison with a number of companies over the past two years, the Council appointed DC Leisure to build the whole Leisure Park and to operate the new leisure centre. DC Leisure are a leading leisure operator, with a very successful track record in bringing good quality leisure facilities to the public, and offering innovative programmes with a range of activities for all members of the community.

The synthetic turf complex will provide 8 x 5-a-side and 1 x 7-a-side pitches, and a further 2 mini soccer pitches will be marked out on the grass to the west of the leisure centre. The play area will be relocated on new surfacing and enclosed with a new fence.
