Trowels at the ready! The Gosport and Lee on Solent in Bloom Competition is now open to enter.

To enter the competition you can apply online using the online form links above, by emailing; streetscene@gosport.gov.uk or pick up a leaflet from the Town Hall.


No matter how big or small your entry, the local Gosport & Lee on the Solent in Bloom competition is the perfect opportunity to take part in something rewarding and worthwhile not only to yourselves but to the whole community.

In all categories marks will be awarded for healthy, well maintained plants that provide all year round interest in a weed free, attractive setting that gives wildlife a home and has minimal impact on natural resources..

Best Front Garden

Best Hanging Basket/Floral Container

Best Balcony

Best Allotment

Best Business

Best Retirement/Sheltered Housing Complex

Best Volunteer, Community & Neighbourhood Group Award


The judges will also be looking for community participation, that improve the resources available to the local community

 

  • Main Entry & Allotment Entry Closing Date: Friday 24th May 2019
  • All participants will receive written confirmation of entry
  • Public Awards Ceremony will be held at the Thorngate Halls on Thursday 26th September 2019 at 19:30hrs – Ticketed event

Main event entries and Allotments will be judged 8 July to 19 July 2019

 

Gosport in Bloom for Schools

Schools in Gosport are invited to enter the Gosport & Lee-on-the-Solent in Bloom Schools Gardening Competition 2019, kindly sponsored by AS Motors, Sodexo, Hambrooks, and Urbaser.

 

The Schools Competition has been running independently from the Main Competition since 2007. We have seen many schools battle through all weathers in order to enter the competition with the ambition of achieving ‘Gold’ and overall Best School.

The judges will be looking for healthy, productive, well maintained plants where children get to grow and maintain the plants as well as linking back to cooking the produce.

 

Entrants are requested to provide a short statement explaining why they believe their entry meets the criteria as listed.
