Police and Crime Commissioners Elections on Thursday 15 November 2012

 

These are new elections where the public across England and Wales will elect a Police and Crime Commissioner who will be accountable for how crime is tackled in their police force areas.

Electors in the whole of Hampshire will vote for a Police and Crime Commissioner for the Hampshire Police Authority.

The Police Area Returning Officer at Southampton City Council will be responsible for receiving nomination papers from prospective candidates as well as declaring the overall election results.

Voting

As with all elections, there are statutory deadline dates for receipt of various application forms. If you know you will be away on election day or you would prefer to vote by post, you can apply now so your voting arrangements are set up in good time for the election.  Once your application form has been received and processed, you will be sent an acknowledgement letter confirming your voting arrangements.
