Recent Tree Works

Week Commencing 29 September 2014

The recent pollarding of 18 in No lime trees in Ordnance Rd, Clarence Rd and High Street located around the perimeter of the Gosport Museum has been undertaken as part of the on-going pollarding regime to which these trees are included.

In this instance the pollarding was brought forward a year earlier to accommodate the erection of scaffolding which is due to be placed around the museum in order that essential maintenance may be carried out to the building.  By undertaking this work it has removed any risk to persons, property and the trees by leaving crowns on the trees whilst scaffolding is being utilised.

None of the trees life expectancy or health status would have been affected by these works which were also approved by planning consent as they were subject to formal notification being located within a conservation area.
