Gosport Borough Council undertakes maintenance of trees situated on Council land such as Housing and Leisure (parks and open spaces) sites throughout the borough.

As of 1 April 2017 trees situated adjacent to the County Council Highway are managed/maintained by Hampshire County Council.

GBC works to ensure that trees are retained for the benefit and enjoyment of residents and visitors alike whilst enhancing the landscape.  Maintenance is undertaken to reduce any risks to persons and/or property and to abate any nuisance where practical and appropriate.

Tree Planting

Tree planting is undertaken over the winter - November through to March.  Planting is undertaken with a view to enhancing and improving the environment by selecting trees which are appropriate for their location in terms of size, species and habit.

The number of trees planted varies depending on budget availability.
