We appreciate the difficult situation that many Gosport businesses are in as a result of the pandemic and are working hard to implement the various grant schemes and make payments as quickly and as diligently as we can. However as you will appreciate we are also currently assessing a large number of applications and responding to a high volume of related enquiries.
In addition to the previously announced grants that are outlined below, on 5 January 2020 the government also announced a one-off grant worth up to £9,000 for businesses in retail, hospitality and leisure sectors. Once we have received the full details of the scheme and the funding we will publish further information about it below.
Businesses that have applied for a Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Tier 4 do not need to reapply for the grant for the national lockdown period from 5 January 2021 onwards. Payments will be made automatically for the six week period to 15 February 2021. However you must tell us if your circumstances change and you are no longer eligible for grant funding.
The national grant schemes to support businesses affected by any periods of national lockdown, or Tier 2, Tier 3 or Tier 4 local restrictions are as follows:
Grants are available to businesses forced to close as a result of the national restrictions
Businesses that would have closed but have chosen to change their business to provide takeaway, click and collect or online with delivery services will be counted as closed.
Eligible businesses can still claim/apply for this grant for the period if they have not already done so

For periods of national lockdowns aimed at businesses that were not eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) (Addendum) and has ongoing fixed property-related costs.
Grants are available to pubs that derive less than 50% of their income from food sales and meet the scheme criteria.

For periods of local restrictions (Tier 2 and Tier 3). Grants are available to businesses required by law to close

Periods of local restrictions (Tier 2 and Tier 3). Grants for businesses which have not had to close but are severely impacted as a result of the local tier 2 and tier 3 restrictions.
Eligible businesses must operate in the sectors of hospitality, hotel, bed and breakfast or leisure.

Update: This match funded grant has been relaunched to assist those small businesses that have been forced to close during the second national lockdown. Please see the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership website for more details.
The Solent LEP's Crowdfunder Solent fund is seeking projects that can demonstrate how they will help a business cope with current challenging trading conditions. There is a maximum pledge of up to £2,000 per micro business (fewer than 10 staff) and up to £5,000 per small business (fewer than 50 staff) available, contributing up to 50% towards the total target.
