Another investigation by the Counter Fraud Benefit Team at Gosport Borough Council has resulted in Jennifer Taylor (48) of Sheffield Court, Davenport Close, Gosport appearing at Fareham Magistrates Court.
Charged with three offences under the Social Security Administration Act 1992, Taylor had dishonestly, falsely claimed Housing Benefit. She had also dishonestly made false representations on Housing Benefit claim forms by failing to declare to Gosport Borough Council that she had other employment, which resulted in an overpayment of over £1,700.
Having pleaded guilty to all the charges Taylor was sentenced to a 2 year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 towards the Council’s costs. In addition to this Taylor must repay any outstanding overpayment that accrued to Gosport Borough Council.
