Ever thought about giving up some time to help in Gosport’s very own Nature reserve The Wildgrounds?
Situated in the Alver Valley at Gosport, The Wildgrounds, is known for its spectacular ancient Oaks, many of which are over four hundred years old.
For people who enjoy the outdoor life, appreciate nature and can spare just a half-day each month, this would be a great opportunity. Benefits to those volunteering include the chance to relax in wonderful unspoilt woodland surrounded by ancient oak trees and an abundance of wildlife.
“Being a volunteer Warden would be ideal for someone with a little time to spare during the week or at weekends,” said Fred Gibson, Countryside Officer for Gosport Borough Council. “We rely on our wardens to open and close the reserve and to sell permits to visitors wishing to walk around, what is, one of Gosport’s most beautiful and wildlife rich areas. We already have a small dedicated team who do a splendid job, but we can always do with more help.”
