This summer will see Gosport Borough Council, in partnership with the Police, providing a host of FREE activities around the borough for young people aged 11-17 years old.
Bustamove skateboarding
Rubicon Skate School will be bringing their expertise to Gosport and providing skateboarding workshops to learn new some new moves at the following venues:
Blue Park, near Cunningham Drive Mondays 23 July-20 August 1-3pm
Skate park, Lee-on-Solent seafront Mondays 23 July-20 August 5-7pm
Weds 25 July-22 August 11-1pm
All abilities welcome. Sskateboards and safety equipment available to borrow.
Bustamove dance
Carrie-Anne Sait will be providing workshops involving the latest street inspired dance moves at the locations below:
Nobes Hall, Nobes Avenue Fridays 27 July-17 August 5-7pm
Lee Community Centre, Twyford Drive Mondays 23 July-27 August 5-7pm
Weds 25 July-29 August 11-1pm
Just wear clothes and shoes suitable for dancing.
Football Frenzy
Pompey in the Community will be coaching at venues in Bridgemary. It’s a great opportunity for young people to improve their skills and maybe even be talent spotted! Sessions take place at:
Bridgemary Community Sports College Tuesdays 24 July-21 August
Holbrook Recreation Ground Fridays 27 July-17 August
Sessions split into age groups 11-13 year olds - 5.30-6.30pm and 14-17 year olds 6.30-7.30pm. Appropriate footwear and shinpads must be worn.
Pimp your bike
Young people will get the opportunity to build a bike from scratch, spray it a funky colour and cycle away with it and some safety equipment. Participants must attend four out of the six sessions to qualify for the bike or they can bring their own to ‘pimp’. Sessions will take place at:
Elson Recreation Ground Thursdays 26 July-30 August 4.30-6.30pm
Due to popular demand, the ‘Pimp your Bike’ is full, though we hope to run additional courses later in the year subject to funding.
Mix’n it up
Music Fusion will be running workshops in DJ skills using the latest equipment and technology. Workshops will take place at:
GADSAD building, Elson Rec Tuesdays 24 July-28 August 4.30-6.30pm
Places on all events are limited and offered on a ‘first come, first-served basis’. All participants need to have a completed consent form signed by a parent or guardian. These are available from
