Some Gosport residents may find an important survey dropping onto their doormat over the next couple of weeks, a document that is so important that the answers given will help shape the future Housing Policy of Gosport.
The aim of the survey is to assess current housing circumstances as well as present the future housing needs of people living in the Borough. The results will help the Council decide on the type and quantity of housing required in Gosport and, will also be used to demonstrate the need for funding to Government and housing providers.
The findings of this survey will also help provide an accurate overall picture of housing across the borough.
The housing needs survey will be carried out on the Council’s behalf by DCA, an experienced and independent consultant specialising in housing issues. It will be delivered to a random sample of 3,500 households in April and everyone in receipt of a questionnaire is encouraged to participate in this important research study.
“Firstly this survey isn’t just for people who need a house,” said Councillor Jill Wright, Chairman of the Housing Board at Gosport Borough Council. “We would encourage everyone contacted to take part and complete and return the form to us whether they have a housing need or not. The valuable information they provide will influence our housing priorities, help us plan for the future and future requirements and, assist us in securing funding for future needs.”
All replies will be treated in the strictest confidence and residents cannot be identified from the information they provide.
It is important that all surveys are returned by Tuesday 24 April.
Anyone with a general query about the survey should contact Donna Moore, Housing Enabling Officer at Gosport Borough Council, Tel: (023) 9254 5567 or they can call DCA directly on freephone 0800 169 7865.
