On Sunday 29 April, Solent & Gosport Devils will play the Bracknell Hornets in a Charity Ice Hockey Match at Gosport’s Ice Arena, Forest Way, Gosport.
Attending the match will be the Mayor of Gosport, Councillor Chris Carter, whose charities for the year are to benefit from the event.
“The money raised will be divided three ways in support of the Soldier, Sailor and Airmen Families Association, Young People of Gosport and 4year old Charlie Codling,” said the Mayor, Cllr Chris Carter.
“Charlie is the son of Steve and Karen Codling and unfortunately the prognosis for the 4 year old isn’t good. Sadly he has an inoperable brain tumour and the experts expect Charlie to only have around another 12 months of life. So his family and friends are doing their utmost to raise funds to provide young Charlie with some truly memorable moments in what is expected to be a very short life.
“I am really grateful to the two teams for their kindness in arranging this ice hockey match to raise funds for my charities. I just hope that people turn out in support for, what promises to be a very exciting evening that will benefit some very special and worthwhile causes. Thanks also to the Bracknell Hornets for making the journey to Gosport for the event.”
Tickets: Adults £5; Children & OAPs £2.50; Students £3; Family of 4 £12.50 are available from the Ice Rink. Details can also be found at:- www.solenticehockey.net Facebook – Solent Devils or Twitter - @SolentDevil
