Initial Response To Waterfront Exhibition Surprises Consultants

Consultants carrying out a study on the Gosport Waterfront were, yesterday, delighted with the response from the public on day one of the exhibition.

Colin Buchanan & Partners, who are undertaking the study on behalf of Gosport Borough Council, manned the exhibition on day one in order to receive ideas and suggestions from local people on how they would like to see the Waterfront at Gosport improved.

Council Officers took over the role today, and for the rest of the week people can pop along to see what area is being considered for improvement and leave their ideas and suggestions for consideration.

Speaking about what this means to the Borough, Cllr Mark Hook, Leader of Gosport Council said, “The area currently under discussion is probably one of the most visited parts of the town by both residents and visitors alike, so whatever we do on the Waterfront, it’s vital that we get it right, which is why the public’s views are so important.”

“The fact that so many people turned have up already to put forward suggestions means that it is as important to the people of Gosport as it is to us and, we hope that at the end of the exhibition we will be moving forward on something we can all be proud of.”

The exhibition continues in the Gosport Discovery Centre until Saturday.
