Your Summer Passport To Fun!…Fun!…Fun!

As the school summer holidays commence, parents are busy looking for interesting and fun things for their youngsters to do to keep them active, happy and out of mischief!

Thanks to the Gosport Passport Scheme, you need look no further, because a full range of FREE, positive activities are being provided for 11-17 year olds to enjoy in their own community.

Organised through a partnership of different agencies, including the Council, Police, Motiv8, SEHCO etc, the aim of the Gosport Passport Scheme is to benefit the local community by providing diversionary activities to deter instances of anti social behaviour. This is achieved by utilising existing leisure resources and communal spaces to provide activities which entertain and keep young people safe.

“The great thing about the Summer Passport is that activities are not all based in just one area, they are spread out all over the Borough allowing young people from all areas to attend something quite near to where they live,” said Carly Northcott Passport co-ordinator. “Not that that seems to matter very much, with many of them travelling the length and breadth of the Borough to take part in all the different events, with something different every day a magnificent time is generally had by all.”

Last years Summer Passport saw over 500 young people take part in a range of activities, whilst at Easter this year a similar Passport event saw more than 200  enjoying activities which included:- scuba diving, human inflatable bowling, 'pass it on' style cooking and free ice-skating!
