There will be various displays and workshops where amongst the activities you can have a go at sketching, designing a countryside mural and beating a rhythm on a drum.

Local schoolchildren have been busy recycling materials to design and make a variety of interesting scarecrows, which will be on show, and competing for the position of the best ‘Wurzel Gummidge’ in Gosport.

Drum runners, percussion workshop will be showing all comers how to make drums out of junk and with team effort make rhythmic music to capture the beat of the surrounding countryside.

Fred Gibson, Gosport Borough Council’s Countryside Officer says ‘If you stop for a little while and observe the environment around you in order to draw or make a photograph it brings another aspect to enjoying our countryside. You may find the area around you suddenly coming to life and things you would not normally have noticed appear for example interesting shapes and colours. It is often difficult in our busy lives to find time to slow down and look but do try, it can be very rewarding.’

The event which will be held on the 1st of July from 1.00 until 4.00 pm at Grange Farm, Little Woodham Lane is free. Refreshments will be available. There will be something for all the family so come along and discover the Picasso hidden inside!
