Equality and Human Rights Commission
Equality and Human Rights commission replaced the Disability Rights Commission in 2007. They still carry out the functions of the Disability Rights Commission but also protect
the areas of age, gender, race, religion and belief, sexual orientation
and gender reassignment. Their function is to enforce equality
duties and eradicate discrimination, influence policy's and commission
research. They also operate a Disability Conciliation Service, offering an
alternative route to Court action if Disability Discrimination
Act legislation is breached.
Employers' Forum on Disability
Employers' Forum on Disability - Although primarily aimed at the Private sector, this site contains an extensive selection of case studies, facts and figures and evidence of good practice regarding disabled people and employment.
Gosport Access Group and Disability Forum
The group meets bimonthly at the Town Hall in Gosport and is open to any disabled person living or working in Gosport and able bodied family members and carers. They campaign for improved access to services across the Borough, raise awareness and ensure disabled people are fully involved in the decision making process.
