The Proposals Map can be viewed via an interactive mapping service.
To use the interactive map click on the Enter Mapping Site button, but you may wish to read and/or print the following guidance notes first.
Enter Mapping Site
When you enter the site click on Local Plan Review listed in the left hand column to load the Proposals Map.
The box that appears down the left-hand side of the page displays all the layers used on the map in the form of a key.
It is possible to view selected layers by unticking the layers that are not required and leaving ticks in the boxes next to the required layers, then click the Apply Layers link at the top or bottom of the key list.
To add a layer to the list, select the Maps Available tab at the top left of the page, tick the relevant box next to the layer to be added, then click the Apply Layers link.
Moving Around the Map

Moving Around the Map
Zoom In
Select this button then click on the map to zoom in by a factor of two. The point clicked on the map will become the centre of the zoomed area.
Zoom Area
Select this button then click and drag a box on the map by holding down the left mouse button. When finished release the left mouse button, the map will redraw to the area specified.
Zoom Out
Select this button then click on the map to zoom out by a factor of two. The point clicked on the map will become the centre of the zoomed area.
Zoom Previous
Selecting this button takes the map back to its previous view.
Re-centre Map
Select this button then click on the map to re-centre the map at the position selected.
Zoom to Original View
Selecting this button will zoom the map to the full extent of the original view.
Zoom to Location
Select one of the locations in the drop down list by clicking on the arrow to the right of the list.
Scale
To change the scale that the map is viewed at select a scale from the drop down list.
The largest scale you can select is 1:500.
Reducing the scale number will zoom in, and increasing the number will zoom out.
The map base only displays on the screen at a scale of 1:10,000 or larger.
Directional Arrows
It is also possible to use the directional arrows around the outer edge of the map window to move around the map. Selecting an arrow will move half a map window width in the chosen direction.
Address Search
To search for an address within Gosport Borough Council select the Search Tools tab, then select Address Search. Enter the address details into the relevant boxes.
You do not need to know the full address you are searching for. For instance if only the street name is known then the search facility will find all properties on the street name entered.
Once the address details have been entered select the Search button, this will return one address or a list of addresses in the Results tab.
By selecting the Go to Location button that appears alongside each address in the Results tab, the map will be drawn with the selected address at the centre.
To see the key click Current Layers tab.
Querying the Map
Get Info
The Get Info button at the bottom of the screen can be used to query specific layers on the Proposals Map.
Select the button and then click on a location on the map.
The policy number that relates to the relevant layer will be displayed.
To link to the relevant policy in the Written Statement, click on the appropriate coloured hyper-linked policy number.
This will open a pdf document that may take some time to load as it is 1.5MB in size.
The Get Info button needs to be refreshed each time the map display is changed in order to access the correct information.
Printing
The current map can be printed using the Print button.
Clicking this button will open up a new window with the current map loaded, ready for printing.
The largest scale for printing is 1:5,000.
