The Borough Council is preparing a Site Allocations DPD. This is a key document in the Gosport Local Development Framework (LDF).
The Site Allocations DPD will identify sites in the Borough that are needed to accommodate the range of land uses necessary to implement the sustainable community objectives of the Core Strategy.
The Borough Council is inviting landowners and their agents, developers and other interested parties to put forward sites for consideration in the Site Allocations DPD. It should be noted that the identification of a site does not automatically mean it will be considered suitable for development.
Sites can be put forward for housing, employment, retail, leisure, community and health and other named land uses. As part of the preparation of the Site Allocation DPD sites that are put forward for housing in this consultation will be assessed as part of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) and sites put forward for employment will be assessed as part of the Employment Land Review.
Please complete an on-line questionnaire if you would like to propose a site for consideration in the Site Allocations DPD. The size threshold for a site to be considered is 0.2 hectares or above. Please attach a plan preferably in PDF format showing the exact location of the site with the site boundary clearly marked. Please note that the Borough Council is unable to consider a site without the submission of a clear site plan.
Alternatively it is possible to download and print a paper copy of the questionnaire. This can then be completed and posted to the Planning Policy section at Gosport Town Hall along with a site plan. Questionnaires will also be available from the Development Services Reception on the third floor of the Town Hall.
The consultation period is from Thursday 08 May 2008 to Friday 06 June 2008, but it may be possible to put forward sites for consideration after this time. Please contact the Planning Policy section on 023 9254 5461 if you need more time to respond.
