In November 2006 the local authorities that form the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire (PUSH) commissioned Atkins to undertake the sub regional Strategic Flood Risk Assessment.
The Assessment is in two parts stage 1: comprises of data collection and a scoping stage as well as carrying out a high level statistical analysis of flood risk in the sub region. Stage 2 involved carrying out a detailed SFRA which included key mapping outputs and guidance for individual local authorities.
The final report summarises the key findings of the SFRA and is tailored for:
• the specific flood risks found in each Local Planning Authority area;
• relating PPS25 to specific SFRA information and data; and
• providing guidance on the requirements of site-specific FRAs.
The final report and mapping can be accessed from:

The following note provides some basic guidance on using the SFRA mapping layers:
PUSH Strategic Flood Risk Assessment - guidance
The initial
screen displays :
- Background mapping
- PUSH Sub-region boundary
- HCC District boundaries
For clarity,
before displaying the Environment Agency or SFRA data, remove the sub-region
and district boundaries using the check boxes in the legend box.
The
Environment Agency or SFRA data can be accessed by ticking the check boxes in
the legend.
A “plus”
symbol on the right of each legend entry indicates that there are additional
sub-categories. Clicking on the symbol will display these and they can then be
selected using the check boxes.
Navigation
around the map :
- Using the search function –

- Using the scale slider bar on
the left hand side of the map
The Help

Note :
For Map Set
1A in the SFRA – Flood Zones are dated 2007. Since the SFRA was completed the
Environment Agency have produced further updates for the flood zones. These
should be referred to rather than the 2007 base.
