The Borough Council is required by national planning policy to prepare a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA). This will form a key component of the evidence base supporting the Gosport LDF.
The primary role of the Gosport SHLAA is to identify sites with potential for housing in the Borough, assess their housing potential and assess when they are likely to be developed. The identification of a site in the SHLAA does not, however, determine whether a site should be allocated for housing development.

The SHLAA will be updated to take account of new planning permissions and new site information in the Annual Monitoring Reports.
