For searches sent in paper form via DX or post:

From 1 April 2008 we are introducing an alternative electronic emailing service priced at the same £118 fee as that charged for electronic searches received via NLIS. This service enhancement is being implemented as a direct result of a suggestion made to us and will bring you the benefits of an immediate cost saving on the search fee (ie. no additional costs such as NLIS hub or channel fees) and a reduction in paperwork.

In order to benefit from our new emailing service you will be required to submit to us via email the official LLC1 and Con29 forms as appropriate together with a good quality plan. Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot offer an electronic payment service and therefore payment must be made by cheque. Your search will only be processed once cheque payment has been received. Your search results will be returned via email with accompanying attachments.

Should you wish to use this new service I should be most grateful if you would first contact the Local Land Charges Section by telephone or email in order that we may monitor the level of interest in and/or uptake of the service and discuss any queries you may have.

Copies of duplicate searches may be obtained at a cost of £10.00, payable in advance.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Average search turnaround time is 5 working days
NB. Local Government Association's Voluntary Code of Practice recommends 10 working days.

Searches should be submitted with plans in duplicate.

This Authority does not charge for expediting searches. However, every effort will be made to expedite when specifically requested.

You may contact us by telephone or in writing, on receipt of any full search (ie. LLC1 and Con29 enquiries), to request free copy documents up to a total of 20 A4 pages (sides). We will only be able to provide copies of registrable Local Land Charges (eg. Section 52/106 Agreements, Conditional Planning Consents, Tree Preservation Orders, S38 Agreements etc.). Should the requested documents total more than 20 pages we will charge for any additional copies at the rate of 20p per A4 side, coloured plans £5.00.
