Summer Open Access Playschemes
Open access play has been running throughout the country since mid 1970’s originally the service was delivered in parks by teams of staff organising “Child lead” games and activities for around two hours, most services where funded though the Local Council.
The aim was to engage children in diversionary activities offering positive and enjoyable experiences during the long school holidays.
These days the service has moved into schools, community halls and community centres but still offers the same type of activities.
Gosport Borough Council has continued this valuable service for the children during the summer holidays and operates at a range of sites throughout the Borough. For further information contact Leisure and Cultural Services on 023 9254 5722

Full Day Childcare
A registered full day childcare service provides a caring, play environment for children during school holidays. The service is paid for in advance normally for a half-day or full day (Check individual clubs for details). Some provisions will offer a breakfast, mid day meal or evening meal. Each club will have a variety of games and activities available throughout the day, a programme of activities may be available on request. These provisions may run every school holiday, this is dependent on the provider. Booking is required in advance as places are limited and prices vary.
