Council Tax

Gosport Borough Council is responsible for collecting the Council Tax. The main portion of this is distributed to Hampshire County Council, Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Authority, the remainder is kept by Gosport. This money helps to pay for the services provided throughout the Borough.

 

You can pay your Council Tax online by clicking here, a Change of Address form for Council Tax is available, this needs to printed, signed and returned to the supplied address. A Direct Debit form is also available here. You can also check your council tax account details online by visiting our Citizen Portal.

 

There is a charge for each domestic property based on its Valuation band. The person liable to pay is usually the owner or tenant.

 

The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) have an online facility to find out which Council Tax Band your property is in - www.voa.gov.uk/council_tax

 

Changes to Council Tax discounts for second homes and empty properties from 1st April 2013
