Corporate Policy and Performance Section

This section provides guidance and support to the organisation and delivers Community Safety, Health and Wellbeing initiatives, and Supporting Families.

 

Key activities include:

  • Facilitating Corporate Planning, Performance Management, Corporate Policy Development and producing toolkits and guidance
  • Delivering a corporate approach to, and support for, Equality and Diversity and meeting Public Sector Equality Duty requirements
  • Co-ordinating delivery of the Prevent Duty and providing Prevent training to staff and contracted services
  • Liaising with the Community and Voluntary Organisations on cross-sectorpartnership initiatives
  • Supporting the Armed Forces Community Covenant and associated funding bids
  • Working jointly with Fareham Council to provide a CCTV system for the Borough
  • Providing various Health and Wellbeing initiatives with a strategic oversight of the local issues
  • Co-ordinating the Supported Families Programme, working closely with a range of local service providers to help vulnerable families
  • Providing a strategic approach to children and young people, including the GBC Youth Council
  • Facilitating the work of the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) through production of the annual Strategic Assessment and development and implementation of the CSP Plan
  • Co-ordinating partnership work in relation to Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), domestic abuse, offender management and substance misuse
  • Co-ordinating and chairing of the Partnership Action Group (PAG)which assists with the safeguarding of vulnerable victims, management of persistent offenders and allocation of partnership resources at identified hotspot locations
  • Receiving and investigates reports of ASB and works with partners to support victims and manage perpetrators
  • Undertaking community engagement work for the CSP, including the annual Safer Gosport Community Day, Summer Passport Scheme and Cycle Safe initiative
  • Communicating key messages for the CSP through the proactive use of social media and through the development of the Safer Gosport website.
