A Suppliers open day was held on
Wednesday 18th November 2009 at the Explosion
Museum
of Naval Firepower in Heritage Way in Gosport, to present and discuss the
proposed scheme with potential
partners, prior to initiating the formal public procurement
process. Due to the vast amount of
interest received via the business portal places were
limited.
The event was open for companies
interested in a broad range of services including:
(A) Landscape Management
(B) Street cleansing and Public
Toilet Cleansing
(C) Waste Management
(D) Response Repairs
(E) Planned Repairs
(F) Gas Servicing
(G) Gas Central Heating and
Electrical Work
(H) Leisure Management
(I) Miscellaneous Works

Contractors who can deliver contracts with an approximate value
of £500k, up to in excess
of £2m per annum were invited to Express an Interest
in attending the event. It was
anticipated that Contractors who attended
the free event were familiar with Open Book
Accounting and Partnering.
Suppliers who attending the event were given the opportunity to gain an understanding
of Gosport Borough Council’s current thinking for the forthcoming procurement of it’s major
contracts and were invited to share their ideas and
expertise to influence the packaging of
these Contracts.
Attached is the full presentations given on the day, including the questions and responses
given via interactive voting pads. Table top discussions were also undertaking throughout
the day, a summery of the responses is also attached.
