Responsibility for concessionary travel transferred to Hampshire County Council (external site) with effect from 1 April 2011.
Hampshire have announced the establishment of a standardised county-wide scheme which is detailed below :-
The Bus Pass will provide for free bus travel between 0900 and 2300 hours on weekdays and at anytime weekends and public holidays.
'All day' time discretion (e.g. pre 0900) for holders of disabled passes only.
The introduction of a Companion Pass.
Voucher booklets to the value of £32.00 will be issued to those eligible on disabled grounds, as an alternative to the bus pass. These are redeemable on voluntary car schemes, Dial-a-ride, Call & Go and taxis.
The scheme will be notified to all existing concession holders in the new year.
For those who have travel tokens, they do not have an expiry date and can continue to be redeemed after 1 April.
