If your bulky items are still usable, why not consider donating them to a local charity to be used again and raise important funds at the same time? Some local charities will collect large items from your home, free of charge. These include:
Jacobs Well, Park Street, Gosport.
Jacobs Well collects furniture, carpet and other household items across Hampshire, or donate to their shop. Tel: 023 9258 3050 or 023 9251 3522 to arrange a collection, or visit their website here.
Sue Ryder Care, Forton Road, Gosport
Sue Ryder accepts clothes, furniture, household items and small working electrical goods. Telephone 023 9252 9135 for more information or visit their website here.
British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electricals store (Fareham)
The British Heart Foundation will collect furniture and electrical items for free, provided they are in a saleable condition and meet the required safety standards (e.g. upholstered furniture will require a fire label). To find out more or to book a collection online, click here, or telephone 0844 412 5000.
Alternatively, why not try listing any usable items on Freecycle or similar sites, or selling them online or at a car boot sale?
