Recycling Banks

Recycling facilities throughout the Borough are currently sited at over 35 locations. 

What can I recycle at a recycling bank?

• Glass bottles and jars e.g. wine, pasta sauce, jam. Please give these a quick rinse first, and please don't include any other types of glass e.g. drinking glasses / pyrex. Lids should be placed in your domestic rubbish bin;

• Paper - including shredded paper, newspapers and magazines
   

• Clothing and textiles - bagged, clean clothing in any condition (including underwear) which will be either reused or recycled into materials such as loft insulation or mattress stuffing. These recycling banks are managed by charities;

• Salvation Army (for more information on this charity click here);

• Shoes - Managed by the charities above plus the European Shoe Recycling Company (for more information on this charity please click here);

• Food tins, drinks cans and aerosols (please give these a quick rinse first and ensure aerosols are empty. Lids should be placed in your household rubbish bin.);  

• Books and music (including CDs, DVDs, videos, tapes, vinyl records - pre-recorded, purchased items only please - no blank tapes / videos).
