 Recycling Banks

 

 

 

For information and advice about recycling at Christmas time please view the attached leaflet.


Recycling facilities throughout the Borough currently involve over 35 locations. Recycling banks are provided for the collection of:

 

  • Glass bottles and jars e.g. wine, pasta sauce, jam (please give these a quick rise first, and please don't include any other types of glass e.g. drinking glasses / pyrex. Please place lids in your domestic rubbish bin);


  • Paper - including shredded paper, newspapers and magazines
     
  • Clothing and textiles - these recycling banks are managed by charities;

    • Oxfam (for more information on this charity click here);

    • Salvation Army (for more information on this charity click here);

 

  • Shoes - Managed by the charities above plus the European Shoe Recycling Company (for more information on this charity please click here);


  • Food and drinks cans (please give these a quick rinse first);

 

  • Books and music (including CDs, DVDs, videos, tapes, vinyl records - pre-recorded, purchased items only please - no blank tapes / videos).

There is now also a set of on-street recycling bins on Marine Parade in Lee-on-the-Solent for the recycling of plastic bottles, cans and cardboard!
