Gosport is a member of Project Integra, the waste partnership of Hampshire authorities, working together to deal with Hampshire's waste and recycling. In Gosport, the entire Borough is served by an alternate weekly collection of dry mixed recyclable materials (paper, card, cans -including aerosols- and plastic bottles - the same materials collected across Hampshire).
The Council's contractor is Urbaser Ltd. This company undertakes refuse and recycling collections, as well as cleaning Gosport’s streets, public conveniences and some sports pavilions.

Wheeled bins:
Wheeled bins are provided free of charge which are black bodied with a green lid for recyclable materials. A standard size recycling bin is 240 litres, however residents can request a smaller 140 litre bin should they wish. For residents who continue to use a sack collection, clear plastic sacks are provided for recyclable materials.
Please place your wheeled bin out for collection by 7am on your collection day.

Extra recycling?
Excess recyclable materials are always welcome and will be collected from the side of a wheeled bin, providing they are properly contained in a cardboard box or a clear or white sack (e.g. white pedal bin liners). Cardboard boxes are preferred as they can then be recycled too. Any black sacks placed out for collection in the week where recyclable materials are due will not be collected, even if they contain recyclable materials.
Assisted Lifts:
If you are unable to present your bin for collection and have no other person within your property to assist with the placing of your container, please contact Streetscene. A member of staff will arrange a visit to discuss your needs.
