Gosport Borough Council is responsible for keeping all adopted highways and Council owned land in a clean and tidy condition. The Council's contractor, Urbaser Ltd. currently holds the Street Cleaning, Grounds Maintenance and Public Convenience cleaning contracts.
High profile areas such as the Town Centre, the Waterfront and Beaches (during the high season) are cleansed daily, all other areas are on a cleansing programme of operations which include:
- Removal of litter
- Sweeping of hard surfaces
- Removal of weeds, leaves and blossom fall
- Emptying of litter and dog bins
- Removal of dumped rubbish and incidents of fly tipping
