"I was delighted to accept the awards and staggered by how many we collected, we really have done incredibly well, especially during these difficult financial times when money is something we don't have a lot of," said Councillor Derek Kimber. "It gave me great pleasure to accept awards presented not only to the Council, but to groupd such as the Friends of Leesland Park, Crescent Gardens, St Mark's Cemetery and the Lee Residents Co.Ltd, who have all worked incredibly hard in their areas. Crescent Gardens winning Level 5 was an incredible result, the highest level possible to achieve, outstanding! Our thanks go to them all for their dedication, and of course to Sodexo, our new Grounds Maintenance Contractors who have taken over the role of maintaining our parks, open spaces, flower borders and roundabouts."
