Clubs, societies, institutions or organisations conducting small lotteries for charitable purposes, sports or other similar purposes (otherwise than for private gain) are required to register under the Gambling Act 2005.
Application for registration should be made to the local authority within whose area the office or head office is situated. A completed application should be returned to the Town Hall together with the statutory fee of £40.00.
The annual fee payable to the registering local authority is £20.00 and must be paid within the period of two months which ends immediately before each anniversary of the registration.
