'Gambling
News' aims to help businesses which will be affected by new the
Gambling Legislation to prepare for the changes that are scheduled to
come into force on 1st September 2007.
Progress so Far
The
Gambling Act 2005 abolished the existing Gaming Board and replaced it
with the Gambling Commission. The Gambling Commission, the new
independent regulator for gambling in Britain, was formally launched on
1 October 2005.
The Gambling Commission has,
under Section 25 of the Gambling Act 2005 published guidance on the
manner in which local authorities are to exercise their functions under
the Act on 1st May 2006.
Keeping you informed
We
intend to include more detailed Information on transition dates,
arrangements, fees and the application process and requirements
contained in the approved Regulations and Order made under the Gambling
Act 2005.
The Gambling
Commission publish Bulletins on the implementation of the Gambling Act,
