The Event Safety Guide aims to "help those who organise music events so that the events run safely." and "... brings together information needed by event organisers, their contractors and employees to help them satisfy the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (HSW Act) and associated regulations."

 

 

HSG 195 (N.B. Large download - 3MB) aims to help those who organise music events so that events run safely. Provides information needed by event organisers, their contractors and employees to help them satisfy the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and associated regulations. It also enables organisers to understand the needs of tothers concerned with events, such as local authority, emergency services, with whom they will need to co-operate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Good Practice Safety Guide: For small and sporting events taking place on the highway, roads and public places (N.B. large down load - 1.25 MB)

 

This is a report on safety at events or gatherings held outside arenas or sports grounds. It gives general information about the responsibilities of organisers, risk assessment, safety measures and planning.

 

The entertainment and leisure industry covers a wide range of activities, from fairgrounds to film locations and from sports facilities to play areas. The Health and Safety Executive do not always enforce health and safety at entertainment and leisure locations; it may be the responsibility of the relevant local authority department to ensure that health and safety is properly managed at some sites. However, all entertainment and leisure locations involve a great deal of interaction with members of the public.

Safety Advisory Group (SAG)

 

   

 

There is one Safety Advisory Group dealing with public events that are planned to take place in the Gosport Borough Council area.

 

 

 

The members of the Gosport Safety Advisory Group (SAG) comprise senior officers from all the emergency services (Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Maritime Coastguard Agency, and the Ambulance NHS Trust). HCC Emergency Planning and Gosport Borough Council Services (Highways, Traffic Management, Building Control, Environmental Health, Legal, Licensing and Emergency Planning) working in the Borough of Gosport.
