The hospitality industry covers a wide range of different businesses including hotels, pubs and restaurants, contract caterers in various industrial and commercial premises, fast food takeaways cafes and bistros.

 

Employing some 1.7 million people and continuing to grow, it is important to manage the risks and prevent the causes of accidents and ill health.

Despite some improvement in recent years there are still serious accidents occurring in this industry with over 1600 reported in 2003
