Shopping in Gosport

Shopping in Gosport

High Street

A short stroll from the Gosport Ferry is Gosport High Street which offers a wide range of major stores including Woolworths, Powerhouse, Halfords, Dorothy Perkins, Burtons, Boots and many more. The Post Office is also here along with all the major banks and building societies and most of these offer a full Bureau de Change service.

A variety of small shops serving all kinds of specialist interest lend a special quality to the Gosport shopping experience. A number of tea and coffee shops along the High Street provide refreshments in or out of doors depending on the weather. The nearby Safeways, Waitrose and Asda superstores provide everything for the 'weekly shop'.

On Tuesdays and Saturdays the High Street comes alive with the biggest street market on the South Coast. A large variety of stalls fill the pedestrianised High Street selling clothes, shoes, toys, household goods, fresh fruit and veg. The market opens for business at 9.00am closing at approximately 4.00pm.

The Market is operated by Hughmark, website: www.hughmark.co.uk, email: helen@hughmark.co.uk

Stoke Road

Stoke Road is the continuation of the High Street and has a fascinating variety of independent retailers, including antiques, music, cycle and bridal shops, picture framers and even an entire shop devoted to cat lovers.

Lee-on-the-Solent High Street

Lee-on-the-Solent High Street has a compact shopping area close to the beach. As well as shops selling beach goods and souvenirs, a choice of individual retailers include ironmongers, butchers, bakers and greengrocers, and there is a variety of tea shops and restaurants.
