MAYOR'S COMMUNICATION
(A) NEW MEMBERS
The Mayor extended a warm welcome to all new Members who were attending their first Council meeting.

SELECTION OF MAYOR 2002/2003
The Mayor reported that in the elections for the whole Council on Thursday, 2 May 2002 Councillor King, Deputy Mayor had lost his seat on the Council. It was therefore necessary to nominate a Mayor Elect for the Municipal Year 2002/03 for next Wednesday's Mayor Making Ceremony at the Annual Council meeting. The Conservative Group accordingly nominated Councillor Bartlett as their nomination for Mayor Elect. The Liberal Democrat Group nominated Councillor Edwards as their nomination for Mayor Elect.
The names of the two nominees were accordingly put to the meeting and it was -
RESOLVED:
That Councillor G R Bartlett be elected Mayor Elect for the 2002/2003 Municipal Year.
Councillor Bartlett briefly returned thanks for his election as Mayor Elect for the Municipal Year 2002/2003.
The Council rose at 6.30 pm.
