MAYOR’S COMMUNICATIONS
(A) PROPOSED CLOSURE OF STOKES BAY PADDLING POOL
Mrs Toni Lewis presented to the Mayor a 1,250 signature petition she had collected against the closure of the Stokes Bay Paddling Pool. Councillor Mrs Cully spoke on Mrs Lewis’s behalf and outlined for the benefit of Members some of the views expressed by petitioners in support of the Paddling Pool. The Mayor promised to forward the petition to the appropriate Unit in the Town Hall.
(B) UPDATE ON THE ROYAL HOSPITAL HASLAR
Councillor Edgar updated Members of the Council on the situation of the Royal Hospital Haslar as it related to the proposed PFI funding bid for the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham and the options currently being put forward by the Fareham and Gosport Primary Care Trust under future health service provision.

RESOLVED: That Councillor Mrs Champion be appointed as the Council’s representative on the Fareham and Gosport Challenge Adventure Project in place of Councillor Smith.
